Lambeth Together is inviting residents and service users to join our Board as Patient and Public Voice members, to improve how health and care works across the borough.

If you are passionate about health and care, are active in your community, and live in Lambeth or regularly use health and care services in the borough, we’d love to hear from you.

The Lambeth Together Board is keen to receive applications from a diverse range of people. We’d especially like to encourage younger adults, disabled people, people from LGBTQ+ communities and people from Black and multi ethnic communities to consider applying, so that the Board membership reflects Lambeth’s diverse population. Applications close on Sunday 26 July.

Who are Lambeth Together?

Lambeth Together is a partnership of the NHS, local authority (Lambeth Council), voluntary sector and others, improving health and wellbeing in Lambeth and reducing unfair and avoidable differences in health between different groups of people. We are part of the South East London Integrated Care System.

What does the Board do?

The Lambeth Together Care Partnership Board meets regularly throughout the year to discuss and reach decisions about priorities and plans for health and care in Lambeth, and to monitor progress. Lambeth Together is looking for two voluntary Patient and Public Voice Members, to join the Board as full voting members.

What will the Patient and Public Voice Member role involve?

As a Patient and Public Voice Member, you’ll take part in Board meetings regularly throughout the year, playing an active and equal part in discussions about priorities, plans and progress in improving the health of Lambeth people. You’ll bring your own experience as well as your understanding of live issues for local communities, so it’s important you have active networks that help you stay in touch – for example, your faith group, a patient group, a residents’ association, or a community forum.

You’ll also take part in our Public Forum and community events, where we invite wider groups of local people to ask questions or concerns, or to start a conversation about any aspect of health in the borough. The essential time commitment is around three to four hours per month, with additional time for development or support related to your role as needed.

This is a voluntary (unpaid) role that offers a meaningful opportunity to play a real part in decision‑making at board and borough level. Over your two-year term, you will develop knowledge and understanding of how the health and care system works, and you’ll have the chance to have a positive impact on Lambeth health.  New members will be offered skills and development support related to the role, and are supported through a buddy system, helping you settle in and feel confident from the start.
