Healthwatch Lambeth is encouraging local residents to take part in a new national survey about hospital discharge experiences. They’re looking for people who have had a difficult experience leaving hospital in the last 12 months, or who have supported someone through the discharge process.

Lambeth residents are helping to shape a new joined-up neighbourhood health and care approach. Recent workshops, surveys and focus groups run by Healthwatch Lambeth and culminating in their Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs) Community Engagement Report – show a strong call for local, connected and preventive services that are easier to access, more personal, and rooted in community life.

Events held in Lambeth and across London have helped hundreds of Black women access free health checks, advice and HIV testing through Glam Squad events, many for the first time, leaving them better informed, confident and empowered to take control of their health.

Residents across south London can now access 24/7 mental health crisis support through WhatsApp, offering a new, more flexible way to get help when they need it most.

The initiative is designed to complement existing urgent support routes, including the NHS 111 “press 2” mental health option, by giving people an additional channel that may feel more accessible and less daunting than speaking on the phone.
