Share your experience of leaving hospital

Healthwatch Lambeth is encouraging local residents to take part in a new national survey about hospital discharge experiences. They’re looking for people who have had a difficult experience leaving hospital in the last 12 months, or who have supported someone through the discharge process.

Leaving the hospital is an important milestone in a person’s healthcare journey. But leaving the hospital isn’t always a smooth experience. Delays, inadequate support packages, and confusing information are affecting people’s discharge experiences – and hampering their recovery.

If you were admitted to hospital in the last year, Healthwatch would like to know:

  • Was the right support in place when it came time to leave?
  • Could you leave when you were meant to, or did you have to stay in hospital longer than was necessary?
A man lies in a hospital bed with an oxygen tube, looking thoughtful. The text reads, What was your hospital discharge experience like? The Healthwatch logo appears in the top right corner.

While the survey is being run across England, Healthwatch Lambeth is particularly keen to hear from Lambeth residents so local experiences can help shape improvements to services.

The survey is open to everyone, but Healthwatch is especially interested in hearing from groups whose voices are often underrepresented, including men and people from ethnic minority communities.

Complete the survey now and help others

Healthwatch Lambeth wants to know more about your experiences to help make the discharge process better for patients and their carers. The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete and will be open until Friday 9 October.
