Great Mental Health Day 2026 – celebrating everyday spaces in Lambeth
Great Mental Health Day returns on Friday 30 January 2026, encouraging Londoners to talk openly about mental health and to connect with the local support available all year round. Across London, the 2026 theme is ‘everyday spaces’, the places that don’t look like services, but so often become the first place we feel safe enough to say, “I need help.”

In Lambeth, these could include your local library, leisure centre, youth club, barber shop, community kitchen, choir group, café, or community hall. They are the places where people gather, feel seen, build confidence and begin to reconnect. These spaces are not just ‘nice to have’. They are essential sanctuaries.
Every day spaces in action across Lambeth
Over the past year, we’ve showcased many Lambeth spaces supporting wellbeing in different ways. Here are just a few examples…
The Lambeth Together Health and Wellbeing Bus team have been providing on‑the‑spot health and wellbeing conversations across the borough, at local leisure centres, libraries, community hubs, special events and more. From cost-of-living advice to women’s health and blood pressure checks. See where the Heath and Wellbeing Bus is stopping next.
Community organisations such as Raw Material, Singing Mamas, Age Exchange and the The Garden Museum’s Food Learning Social Prescribing Programme are creating safe, trusted spaces for connection, culture and conversations that support mental wellbeing. Read more about creative health in Lambeth.
Lambeth Libraries are open to all and continue to offer welcoming community hubs with special events, weekly groups, learning and social connection. See what’s happening at your local library.
Lambeth Council also provides a huge selection of sporting facilities, unmatched by any other local provider for space, activities and value for money. Find swim, gym, fitness classes, kids’ activities and more at your local Active Lambeth leisure centre.
And specialist organisations like the Mosaic Clubhouse have been supporting residents with co‑produced opportunities in education and employment. They also offer crisis support through the Evening Sanctuary for people experiencing mental health crisis. Learn more about the Mosaic Clubhouse.
