  1. It’s Creative Health and Wellbeing Week! Running from 18 to 24 May 2026, communities across the country are coming together to engage in creative activities, and celebrate their impact on health and wellbeing.

The benefits of creative health are numerous, from helping to manage long-term health conditions to promoting better mental and physical health through:

    • Connection with others
    • The opportunity to learn and develop new skills
    • Moving your body
    • Expressing yourself artistically

Creative health can also play a role in strengthening neighbourhood work, as demonstrated by a collaboration between the SEL ICS Creative Health leads, and Lambeth Council Culture and Public health teams, who came together to co-host the first Creative Health in Lambeth Neighbourhoods event in October 2025.

  2. Monday 11 May marks the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week this year, and the theme is ‘Action.’ While raising awareness remains essential, ‘taking action’ is vital to lasting change and better health all year round.

Lambeth Together and Partnership Southwark have created a short video exploring the different ways residents can take action on their mental health through the 5 Steps to Mental Wellbeing.

  3. It’s been over ten years since the National HIV Testing Week campaign began, and thousands of Londoners have taken charge of their health and gotten tested. This year National HIV Testing Week 2026 runs from Monday 9 to Sunday 15 February.

  4. Great Mental Health Day returns on Friday 30 January 2026, encouraging Londoners to talk openly about mental health and to connect with the local support available all year round. Across London, the 2026 theme is ‘everyday spaces’, the places that don’t look like services, but so often become the first place we feel safe enough to say, I need help.
