Healthwatch Lambeth is encouraging local residents to take part in a new national survey about hospital discharge experiences. They’re looking for people who have had a difficult experience leaving hospital in the last 12 months, or who have supported someone through the discharge process.

New research using Lambeth health data suggests that NHS Health Checks could help people live longer by identifying health problems early and supporting people to get the care they need.

What the research found
The study, published in the British Journal of General Practice, followed more than 158,000 Lambeth residents over a 15-year period.

Following recent outbreaks and clusters of Meningococcal B, also known as MenB, among teenagers and young adults, the NHS has introduced a new, time-limited, free vaccination offer for eligible young people.
MenB bacteria can cause meningitis, an infection of the lining around the brain and spinal cord, and septicaemia, sometimes called blood poisoning.
