  1. On Saturday March 15 2025, Lambeth Town Hall was abuzz with energy and excitement as the SHERO event unfolded, dedicated to reclaiming Black women’s and family health. The event brought together a vibrant community of attendees, speakers, and performers, all united by a common goal: to empower and educate about sexual and reproductive health in the Black community.

  2. The NHS Blood and Transplant Service are excited to invite you to a special event in Brixton on Sunday 26 January.

    This vibrant day will celebrate Black culture through music, food, art, and inspiring guest speakers, while shining a light on the importance of blood donation and raising awareness of Sickle Cell—a blood disorder that primarily affects individuals of African and Caribbean heritage.

  3. As Black History Month is here, Lambeth Together reflects on the rich contributions of Black individuals to health and wellbeing in Lambeth, while acknowledging the work that still needs to be done to address ongoing health inequalities.

    Around Lambeth, communities are celebrating Black culture and taking proactive steps to bring health support directly into the heart of Lambeth.

  4. More than 400 local people joined a special health and wellbeing day on Saturday for the borough’s Black communities. It combined culture, entertainment, stalls, health screening, sports and expert support to highlight and improve health issues.

    Lambeth: Big health boost for Black communities

     

    It was organised by Lambeth Together – a partnership between Lambeth Council, the NHS and the voluntary sector – alongside the inspire programme which was set up after the Covid-19 pandemic to tackle the big health inequalities faced by Black people in London.
