A neighbourhood-based children’s health programme developed in Lambeth has been named London regional winner in the NHS Excellence Awards 2026, recognising its success in improving care for children and young people while reducing health inequalities.
Evelina London’s CHILDS model (Child Health Integrated Learning and Delivery System) won the regional award in the Neighbourhood health category.
Lambeth’s revised sexual health strategy prioritises access, prevention, and inclusion. The new five-year sexual and reproductive health & HIV strategy represents a significant advancement toward improving population health outcomes. Its objectives include addressing increasing demand for services, ensuring sustainable funding, and reducing disparities in sexual health.
In its first six months, Lambeth’s Women and Girls’ Health Hub has improved women’s access to specialist support, enhanced the skills of clinicians working in general practice, and shown promising signs of the potential of this model to deliver benefits for women and girls across the borough.
Lambeth’s fourth ‘Inspire’ Black communities health and wellbeing day drew over 450 people to St Mark’s Church in Kennington on Saturday 25 October. This popular event takes place annually during Black History Month, and connects individuals with advice, information and support to take charge of their health, and interact with vital services in a community setting.
