Richard Sparkes

Richard has been working in social care since 1996 with over 25 years experience working within Lambeth as a qualified social worker as well as holding a Psychology degree and MBA. Richard’s social care experience stretches across residential, hospital and community settings and has worked as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP).

As Acting Director of Adult Social Care for Lambeth, Richard provides strategic leadership across adult social care services  with accountability for meeting social care legislation duties and protecting adults with social care needs through strong safeguarding and partnership approaches.

Richard works closely with partners to deliver integrated, person‑centred support for people that is shaped by the voices and experiences of those we serve. Richard is passionate about delivering compassionate, equitable and preventative adult social care services that support people to live well by ensuring respect, inclusion and independence is at the heart of our practice.
