About the Staying Healthy Programme

Supporting people in Lambeth to maintain positive behaviours that keep them healthy.

The Staying Healthy Programme supports people to stay well and prevent them from developing serious, long-term health conditions and preventable diseases.

A wide range of factors, including income and ethnicity, can impact on people’s health. People on lower incomes and in poorer, more densely populated parts of the borough are more likely to suffer from, and be at increased risk of, poorer health. We know that those from Black, Asian and multi-ethnic backgrounds are also more likely to suffer poor health.

Our aim is to improve health and reduce unfair and avoidable inequalities in health between people from different groups. This means working together with a range of partners including our communities to take a holistic approach to tackling these unjustifiable health differences. By understanding more about the needs of our different communities and working with them, we are able to use our collective resources to support people in a way that works best for them.

The Staying Healthy Programme is led by Lambeth Council’s Public Health team, with support from other Lambeth Together partner organisations and programmes.
